Kerry Hudson

Kerry Hudson is a Solicitor and Director at Bullivant Law. She joined the firm in 2008 as a Paralegal whilst undertaking the Bar Vocational Course. She was called to the Bar in 2009 (Inner Temple) and cross-qualified in 2011 to become a Solicitor. She represents clients charged with all types of criminal offences at both the Police Station and Magistrates’ Court. She has an exclusively defence-based practice and has extensive experience in preparing both Magistrates’ and Crown Court cases, in all areas of crime. She is a strong advocate for equality of arms, and believes everyone should have the support of legal representatives when involved in the criminal justice system. She has expertise in dealing with vulnerable defendants and those with mental health problems. Kerry has dealt with a number of high profile and complex cases including multi handed conspiracies, homicide, drugs and serious sexual offences.

Notable cases include: R v Kimel & Others: A multi-handed murder and conspiracy to rob and falsely imprison. Defence of lack of intent/causation based on issues with the Crown’s Pathologist report and there being no determinable cause of death. Appeal against conviction pending. R v Sands: Female defendant accused of murdering a paedophile. Defence of loss of control was successful and defendant was acquitted of murder, and was instead convicted of manslaughter. The case required co-ordinating a number of Expert reports. R v Nuta & Others: A multi handed conspiracy involving people trafficking and the facilitation of prostitution for gain.
